The former Horsens State Prison closed in 2006 after more than 150 years of operation and reopened in 2012 as the experience venue FÆNGSLET. Within a few years, it succeeded in becoming a nationally and internationally recognised setting for culture and events. Today, FÆNGSLET houses an award-winning prison museum, accommodation, major concerts, events, cultural festivals, meetings and conferences, office rentals, a brasserie, football golf, and Locked Escape Rooms.
