Q-Park announces a new strategy as a sustainable mobility partner

This strategy will make Q-Park more visible as a mobility partner at an international level.

A new strategy formalises a long-standing evolution from a parking operator to a mobility partner for local authorities and mobility providers: We work together to create accessible and liveable cities.

For decades, Q-Park has provided infrastructure for parking solutions in seven Western European countries through commercial parking facilities. However, Q-Park is not just an operator of parking facilities; it also plays an active role in Europe’s mobility transition by advising municipalities on parking solutions as part of their mobility plans. This strategy has strengthened Q-Park’s position as an international mobility partner, and in recent years, we have increasingly been chosen as a partner by decision-makers in more than 300 cities in their work towards more sustainable mobility.

Efficient Traffic Flow

“As populations grow and the number of cars increases, the demand for parking solutions also rises,” says Alex Pedersen, Managing Director of Q-Park Denmark. “However, these solutions must contribute to a better urban environment, reduce congestion, and accommodate the increase in environmentally friendly vehicles. That is why every dialogue with municipalities and decision-makers is always based on ensuring a better urban environment and improved mobility for the benefit of both residents and visitors to the city. We help reduce search traffic by offering pre-booking of parking spaces and optimise car journeys through digital and physical wayfinding to parking facilities. We also provide electric vehicle charging,” concludes Alex Pedersen.

Mobility Hub – More Than Just a Parking Space

A central element in Q-Park’s strategy as a mobility partner is the Q-Park Mobility Hub. Q-Park Mobility Hubs integrate various functions and services, including parking, charging, booking, and shared mobility solutions.

In addition to traditional parking services, a Q-Park Mobility Hub connects travellers with mobility partners offering alternative ways to navigate the city – including public transport, car and bike rental services. Q-Park Mobility Hubs also provide charging stations for electric vehicles powered by wind energy.

Q-Park Mobility Hubs are naturally connected to our digital platform, Q-Park PaSS (Parking as a Smart Service).

PaSS ensures a seamless parking experience with automatic number plate recognition and payment. With automatic number plate recognition, customers enjoy a smooth and straightforward payment process using a payment app such as EasyPark or the Q-Park app. Those who have booked and paid in advance can enter and exit effortlessly, as the barrier opens automatically.
